Race Director Security Update

Beginning on July 1, 2018 all registration companies who are PCI DSS compliant will be required to operate under stricter rules with regard to the security levels of any system that they connect with.  These rules are designed to insure there is no possibility of exposure to the details of credit card transactions. As a result of these changes older, unsupported operating systems such as Windows XP and Windows Vista will be blocked from any sort of connection – even if it’s only to pull in registrations or publish finish results.  It is recommended that after July 1 you do a test import of participant data for any partner you regularly use in the list of partners when you use the “Imp” button in Update -> Participants.

If you have a need to connect with any system that is involved with credit card processing, you must do so on computers with recent security updates.  If your computer is operating with Windows 8 or higher and your Windows updates are current, you will not be impacted. If you are running Windows 7, you may be affected.  For Windows 7 problems, there is a “Easy Fix” choice when you use the link below which will bring your system into compliance.
